Haemodynamics & Haemodynamic Monitoring
The relationships between arterial blood pressure, resistance and the flow of blood and oxygen to the body tissues are collectively described as the systemic haemodynamics.Electronic medical devices, such as the LiDCOplus Hemodynamic Monitor operating with the PulseCO waveform analysis software can be used to monitor these key parameters continuously and through minimally invasive arterial access. This advance in electronic haemodynamic monitoring has radically improved the medical practitioners and nurses' ability to monitor, diagnose and treat major surgery and critically ill patients. In addition to the monitoring of systemic hemodynamics the LiDCOplus Hemodynamic Monitor allows an assessment of the venous filling status of the patient ensuring adequate hydration and cardiac performance without the need for cardiac catheterisation.
